Frame Pollen Trap
Frame pollen traps are attached directly to the frame in front of the frame entrance.
After installation, it is recommended to keep the passage open (no pollen collection) for about 2 days to let the bees get used to it.
Pollen should be collected daily to prevent moisture buildup and mold overnight.
Bees crawl through the holes in the grid, losing some pollen sacs that fall into the collector.
The advantage of the frame pollen trap is its simple operation and that bees do not lose all their pollen. The trap collects about one-third of the pollen load. Collection lasts only a few days, after which the collection strip is turned and the bees are allowed free passage.
